Waterhouse Point
The camping area known as Waterhouse Point, Waterhouse Conservation Area, is the largest of the camping areas with several popular spots behind the beach, including camping zones known as Village Green, Mathers and Waterhouse Point. This campground is suitable for smaller caravans, motorhomes, camper trailers, tent camping and rooftop tents. Each designated camping area is equipped with composting, hybrid toilets. These toilets are sensitive to chemicals and dumping of portable toilets is not permitted. The nearest dump stations are at Scottsdale, St Helens, George Town or Bridport. As with all campgrounds at Waterhouse the camping area is quite basic but does have composting toilets. No bookings are possible – all camping is on a first come, first served basis. Pets are OK but must be kept on a lead and under control at all times. Campers are advised to bring gas stoves or barbecues for cooking – campfires are permitted but only specific to local conditions. You must carry your own firewood.
