Free Camping Tasmania
Without question, Tasmania is Australia’s last true wilderness frontier, and what better way to see it than camping near the beach, in the central highlands near amazing fishing, in a peaceful bush setting, or even in one of Tassie’s amazing caravan parks. Tasmania offers great camping in its amazing national parks (Parks Pass Required, and costs apply). Most Tasmanian free campsites don’t accept bookings and are offered on a first-come-first-served basis. Be aware, that during Christmas, Easter, long weekends over summer and during school holidays, Tasmania campgrounds can be completely full to overflowing. Many of the more popular campsites are this way because they are close to the beach or waterways. Some sites allow camping with dogs – dogs are strictly not permitted in Tasmania national parks.
